More space in the bedroom

When we moved into this house we didn't really think to look at storage as we were blown away by the size of the garden and kitchen. After moving in we realised that compared to our old place (which had a converted loft for storage) we really had nothing in the new place.

Since moving in we have had the loft hatch extended and a much better set of ladders put in so we at least put some boxes up there without breaking out necks in the process. We need to get more of the floor laid so we can use more of the loft area and a light up there wouldn't go amiss either.

In the house we had our gas boiler removed so there is now more storage in a cupboard but what I really want to focus on is storage that's either very clever of hidden.

One thing I am thinking is for shelves above doors so I can buy lots of funky, pretty boxes to store junk in. Not good for all the rooms but the hallway, study and laundry room could all take it without looking too out of place.

Another option I'm wondering about is a bed with under storage so instead of having loads of rubbish visible under the bed it would be hidden which tidy up the bedroom no end but also (I hope) make it appear a little bigger singe the lines in the room will be cleaner.

Both of those are just ideas for now and I'm on the lookout for any other ideas for storage.

My first post

Hi and welcome to my blog.

I'm starting this because I am in the middle of getting my house redecorated (I say middle....started 5 years ago...) and there are just to many ideas floating around my head. As much as I love Pinterest, sometimes I need to be able to bookmark, comment on or simply remember seeing a link or article for the home.

So, this is my virtual memory for while I am doing up my castle and I hope to fill it with everything for the home, garden and any other funky little product or touch I stumble across in my quest to have a home that looks like it would be at home in a magazine!
